Ralph McQuarrie, Star Wars concept artist question?
Does anyone know what kind of paints Ralph McQuarrie used to create his Star Wars artwork? I’m an artist and I can almost always tell what a piece of artwork was done in by looking at it, but with his art I can’t figure it out. It looks like oil or acrylic in some ways, but also seems to have some characteristics of watercolor. Also, there’s so many perfectly strait lines and clean, hard edges. How does he get those with a paint brush?
